Redhanded has launched a confronting, electrical safety campaign for Energy Safe Victoria with a very simple message. No handyman should attempt to fix an electrical fault. It should always be left to a qualified tradie.
With just six letters, Redhanded has produced a powerful campaign theme, DIY = DIE.
The campaign follows two deaths in Victoria earlier this year, both related to water and electricity. A 21-year-old Yarroweyah man and a 75-year-old man in the Geelong area both died attempting to fix pumps.
“Water and electricity can be a fatal combination. Damaged or poorly maintained equipment can kill,” Neil Fraser from ESV said.
“A slight tingle or fuses blowing regularly are signs of a serious problem and they need to be investigated by a qualified tradesperson.”
The campaign TVC will be aired in metro and regional areas, as well as cinema, outdoor and a full page in The Weekly Times.
